School of Media, Culture & Design (MCD) is a thriving dynamic school with the special mission of educating the next generation of creative professionals. We are located in Burbank, which is widely known as the media capital of the world. Our mix of major degree-granting programs covers almost every facet of contemporary culture. Students learn, in many cases, directly from faculty that work in the surrounding creative economy. They also benefit from small class sizes, new digital infrastructure, and enriching student life programs.
MCD promotes cross-disciplinarity as a core attribute of the school. Of course, cross-fertilization of ideas happens naturally among students in our many majors. We also provide more structured mechanisms designed to spur collaborative brainstorming and conceptual innovation. For example, classes between majors are intentionally paired to bring multiple perspectives to bear on the same design problem. Advanced seminars that transcend any one major allow students to work together on outside projects or competitions.ALL PROGRAMS
